This position is for the youngest son (Year 1). Boy has Aspergers
syndrome, applicants with teaching qualificaions or special needs
experiences are invited to apply. This position will be extremely
challenging but will also be satisfying as well. ,The units of work for
SDE will be modified to suit the childs ability and as such the home
tutor must be willing to work as a team with SDE staff,speech
pathologist and parents to provide a postive educating role. There will
be no house work,cooking etc associated with the position. On occasions
the home tutor may have to provide supervision of the two youngest
children after school. There will be no weekend or holiday work and we
would encourage the sucessful applicant to have a break away from the
property and recharge. We also encourage any study the applicant would
like to undertake and computer and internet would be available in
consultation with us as to usage. As son has a great love for music ,
some musical experience would be good. Swimming coaching would also be of advantage. |

As stated above teaching qualifcations or special needs are highly desirable . Skills associated with computer and music advantagous. We have approx 15 kms of dirt but road is very rough and 4wd would be appropriate. We live in a small community which is based around a one-teacher school and hall. Tennis is played weekly and we encourage our staff to get out and mix socially within the community. The nearest service town in 110 km away and Roma is 210 kms to the south so being able to handle a degree of isolation would be advantegous. |

the moment, currently looking into it for next year, because of grade 1
papers.

The quarters are newly built about 80m from the house. 3 bedrooms & toilet upstairs, living area, laundry,shower and toilet downstairs. We can provide linen. The quarters are built inside the machinery shed at one end. TV provided. Kitchen has a gas stove, fridge and chest freezer, basic appliances and basic cutlery. The governess is expected to cook all meals for themselves. Phone connected for local calls and incoming calls. No mobile phone reception. Casual worker will be sharing accommodation | ||

School days start at approx 8 and go through till 3.30 - 4. with about
an hour for lunch and half an hour for smoko. This is planned around
on-air lessons. The governess is required to manage the day to day
running of the schoolroom from preparing each days work, keeping up to
date and having sports activities. The children help to keep schoolroom
tidy, sweeping of floors and general tidiness is the governess's
responsiblity, as well as returning schoolwork. May be some childminding after school hours depending if I'm working away. There is no household duties assigned to governess but may be required sometimes to lend a hand if things are getting busy and if I'm working on property. I would like to employ someone who has experience with governessing and preferably teaching boys. Someone who is willing to participate and organise activities that are outside the requirement of the Distance Ed program. |

We manage a cattle property for a large family owned private company with a head office in Brisbane and several other properties and feedlots throughout the state. We have lived here for nearly 2 years and come from a very large property in the NT before that. We have three boys, 4 yrs, 2 yrs and 4 mths. Oldest is starting Prep next year and we would like someone to help out. There are 3 to 4 other permanent staff living on the property as well as contractors and casuals at various times. |

Supervise lessons and manage the school room. School day from 8am to 3pm then other jobs such as cooking, gardening etc and generally helping out. School holidays can work in paddock if desired or work around houses and gardens. We want someone who loves kids, genuinely interested in helping with education, and who wants to be part of our small station community and family. |

My Family |
There are two families with children living on Lake Nash. Our family has two little boys - one will be in Grade 1 next year and the other is turning 3. The other family has a daughter at boarding school and a son in Grade 4 next year. daughter at boarding school and a son in Grade 4 next year. In a normal season there is over 20 staff, as well as contractors. There are 2 single men's quarters, couple accommodation, 5 homes, cook's quarters and kitchen, guest house and a recreation club which opens Tues, Fri, Sat and Sun. The rec club sells basic items, phone cards, junkfood, smokes and alcohol. There is a dry (no alcohol) aboriginal community located 9km form the station which has an excellent health clinic, there are regular visits from doctors, dentists, etc. There is also a large corner store, a 3 teacher community school and policestation. |

Wage |
Salary is as per certified agreement, this is a day rate with $10 board and keep deducted per day, overtime is time and a half. There are different levels of competency and applicants with teaching qualifications will be paid at a higher rate. The schoolroom is large, approximately 8 X 8 m with a second on air/computer room 2 X 6 m, both with reverse cycle airconditiong and heating. The schoolroom, 3 bedrooms, bathroom and large front verandah were completely renovated last year. The schoolroom and on air room both have phone and wireless internet access. There is large storage cupboards, art area, computer desk, whiteboard, blackboard and pin boards. There is also a fully fenced above ground 8 X 4 m salt water swimming pool located close to the school room. |
